Now, 75 years on, our family owned business aims to inspire our customers through passion, knowledge and expertise – nowhere is this more apparent than in our 3000 square foot showroom.
1945 - When it all started
Kingsworthy Foundry began life back shortly before 1945 as a fully functioning cast iron foundry. Our iron founders made everything for the building trade, from manhole covers, stop cocks and square and circular gratings to fences and fire accessories. The Foundry was one of only a handful of foundries operating in the UK.
1978
The foundry has always been located on the same site here in Kings Worthy. However, back in 1978 the business changed operations in order to focus on the manufacture and sale of Firebacks, Grates and Fireside Accessories.
Rather than cut a ribbon, the son of the founder opened the new showroom by lighting a fire!
1997
Kingsworthy Foundry had to evolve to meet customer demands and therefore diversified its fire products and has now built an enviable reputation for offering a huge range of fireplace equipment, traditional cast iron firebacks, firegrates, woodburning and multifuel stoves.
2022
Today, Kingsworthy Foundry is owned and managed by the grandson of the founder having taken the reins from his father who retired after 50 years at the helm!
The team continue to share their knowledge and experience with customers and are widely regarded as the premier destination for all things fire, within their impressive 3000sqft showroom in Kings Worthy.
